Stories that change lives
STORIES FOR KIDSBooks for kids that feature compelling characters who also happen to experience some kind of disability are popular with kids, parents and educators. Stories are a powerful way to understand diversity in people and in nature.
Stories illuminate how other people and creatures live. Stories allow us an intimate look into how other people think, especially those we might think of as 'different.' Stories show us how similar we all are and opens our eyes and hearts.

After decades of writing about parenting, pregnancy and disabilities, my work has taken a new direction. Young readers want to be entertained and they want to be engaged. By combining all the elements of a good adventure story where nature is almost another character, readers can learn about the natural diversity of people and places. Bird Brain is the first book in a series for middle grade readers.
